Stuck on a crossword puzzle? "XWord Aide" can help. Just type the letters of the clues answer that you already know and press the spacebar for those you dont. "XWord Aide" will suggest words that could fit. Solving a puzzle in a foreign language? We have you covered. "XWord Aide" has dictionaries for English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian. We also include 4 variants of the English language dictionary so you can find words in American, British, Canadian, and Australian English.

English(US): 122,158 words (includes 3,445 proper nouns)
English(GB): 121,493 words (includes 3,000+ proper nouns)
English(CA): 122,006 words (includes 3,000+ proper nouns)
English(AU): 121,493 words (includes 3,000+ proper nouns)
Spanish: 67,741 words
French: 138,734 words
German: 170,765 words
Italian: 77,228 words
Wildcards:
? matches any letter
* optionally matches any letter. Great for finding long words in "Double Across".
Examples:
FR?G would match "frog".
**?ING would match "sing", "thing" and "spring".
Other Features:
Copy - Copy any word to the clipboard with a touch of a button.
Define - If you dont know a word, press the define button. "XWord Aide" will launch Googles dictionary or Google Translate as appropriate.

This is not a normal dictionary book where you look up a clue and get an answer. It is instead an answer book. Let me explain...its great for finding all possible answers to partially completed words. For instance if you had a six letter word but only the 2nd and 5th letter (appearing on your cxword page as *h**t*), it would list you all combination of six letter words with h and t in these position. Also it will give similar result for words in Spanish, French, German and Italian. It also give you definitions of words, and here is its one FLAW, if you need an answer to something lets say in German, but your not sure if the list of possible answers you get from your search is the one fitting the definition, you can ask the program to define the foreign word for you. The problem is that it takes you to a google site that is entirely in the language that the word is in. i.e. if the word was in German then it would take me to a site giving me the answer entirely in German...not particularly useful for someone that speaks only English. Overall a great cxword aide for partially completed words.

So Ive been trying this app out for a week or two. It does exactly what it says it does. The GUI is clear and easy to use. Plus its multilingual. Ive tried another app similar to this one and it was OK, but it didnt come close to the functionality. Try this out and you wont be disappointed!
